Indonesia’s beautiful island of Bali offers a ton of wonderful attractions and activities for visitors to partake in.  We’ve been there a number of times now both with a ship and without.  Among those times, we’ve visited numerous beaches, eaten and drank at a bunch of lovely establishments, danced, seen live music, enjoyed spa treatments, gone scuba diving, motorbiking, and temple viewing.  Like I said, TONS of stuff to do.

On this afternoon we decided to visit Padang Padang Beach, which now might truly be my favorite of Bali.  Love how it’s in a little cove and is shaded partially by the cliff on one side.  In order to get down to it from the road above, you must squeeze between giant rocks down a set of manicured cement stairs.  There are a few food vendors and shop stands, but other than that (and a bunch of tourists) it’s relaxing and calm, but the undertow can be a challenge.  FYI there is not much of a reliable toilet (it’s also a shower so the line can get long) so plan accordingly.

We spent some time at the beach and then moved on to Uluwatu Temple for the famous sunset and Kecak & Fire Dance.  It features gorgeous costumed performers that can be enjoyed from stadium seating looking out over the ocean as the sun sets on the horizon.  Not bad!  Until the monkey starts kicking fireballs…that was a bit scary…
