BROAD SMILES NEAR BOBIRI, GHANA

IT’S BEEN NEARLY EIGHT YEARS SINCE THE TRAVEL BUG BIT.

I met these children on Christmas Day of 2006.  We spent only an hour or so together but their joy and lust for life was immediately apparent.  They welcomed us with bright smiles and vibrant giggles, with hugs, and hand holds.

They are mostly all teenagers now, some may be in their early twenties.  It is likely they have forgotten me and my classmates as they’ve matured.  What I would tell them now if I could, is how inspired they left me.  I flew away from their country with an insatiable appetite to continue my quest to see the world, to meet its people, to experience its culture.  And for that I will be forever thankful to them.
