PASSING THROUGH PANAMA

A few photos showing our trip through the Panama Canal‘s final lock before entering the Pacific Ocean.  This manmade marvel is near one hundred years old and has provided a route between the two oceans for hundreds of thousands of ships since its inauguration in 1914, 33 years after construction began.  At 48 miles across, it has been named as one of the world’s modern marvels.  I can attest that it truly is remarkable.  And to think of the technology that was used at the time it was built…crazy.
